The shop
It started with peda, laddu and bhujia
Sri Dungargarh is a tehsil town on the Bikaner–Ratangarh road. In 1955, Shri Gopaldas Swami opened a single counter here with three items and one iron kadhai. The town was smaller then; the road was not tarred.
Three generations later the shop is in the same building, and the kitchen is still the room directly behind the counter. Customers can see the kadhai from where they stand — that was never a design decision, it is simply how the building was built.
We have added items slowly, and only when we could make them properly. Motipak came in the seventies. Kaju katli later, once good cashew became reliable. Goond chakki has always been a winter sweet.

A short timeline
What changed, and what did not
The first counter
Shri Gopaldas Swami begins selling mawa peda, boondi laddu and bhujia on the Sri Dungargarh main road.
Motipak joins the tray
The boondi jhara arrives from Bikaner. Motipak and besan chakki become the winter mainstay for the surrounding villages.
Our own ghee
The family stops buying market ghee and starts clarifying butter in-house. It is the single change customers noticed most.
Packaged namkeen
Bhujia and the Kuch Khatta Kuch Meetha mixture are packed under the GDS mark and sent to shops across the district.
Sweets travel
Cold-chain couriers make it possible to send milk sweets outside Rajasthan. The first Diwali boxes go further than the bus stand.
The same room
Four generations, one address. Everything is still cooked behind the counter you buy it from.
House rules
Three things we do not negotiate
Ghee, never vanaspati
Butter is clarified in our kitchen. It is the reason besan chakki smells the way it does two streets away.
Nothing sits overnight
Milk sweets are made for the day. The next morning starts with fresh mawa.
Weighed in front of you
At the counter and in the packing room, the scale faces the customer. Online, the tin is weighed after packing and the slip goes in the box.

Questions we get
Delivery, bulk orders, returns
Shelf life is printed on each pack. Milk sweets are shorter-lived than ghee sweets and namkeen. There are no preservatives. Check the product page before you order.
Enter your PIN at checkout. The shop shows the delivery methods, price and estimate for that code. Availability depends on the route, not a promise on this page.
Yes. Tell the shop the date, the mix and the number of boxes before you need them. Contact the counter.
Open the order in your account and send a return request with a description the day it arrives. The shop reviews each request. Returns policy.
The kitchen is vegetarian. Sweets contain milk and most contain tree nuts. The kitchen also handles wheat, so we cannot call anything gluten-free. Read each product’s allergen note.
